Inside Dolphin's containerized crude oil recovery system
This 360-degree tour shows a Dolphin Centrifuge oil recovery installation built around Alfa Laval decanter and disc stack centrifuges. It provides a view of the equipment arrangement inside the container, complementing the process description and flow diagram on our crude oil tank bottom recovery system page.

How the oil recovery system works
- Feed preparation: The system conditions incoming crude oil tank bottom material before centrifugal separation. Tanks, heating loops and piping support this stage.
- Heavy solids removal: An Alfa Laval NX-418 decanter separates heavy sludge from the incoming material.
- Oil polishing: An Alfa Laval WHPX 513 disc stack centrifuge, supplied as Dolphin's DMPX-070 module, performs the final separation stage.
Dolphin engineers the container or skid, tanks, heat loops, piping and controls around remanufactured Alfa Laval centrifuges. Dolphin Centrifuge is an independent remanufacturer and is not affiliated with Alfa Laval.
